Dr. Jerry Preuss received his B.S. degree in 1971 from Indiana State University in Environment Health Science. While working for the EPA in Washington D.C., he attended Howard University Georgetown, and George Washington University while pursuing his masters in civil engineering. He attended the University of MD and received his Dental Doctorial in 1980. He started his dental practice in North Dakota while working for the public health service and treating the Native Americans of Chippewa Tribes.
In 1982 he moved his family to Lafayette and established The Family Practice of Dentistry. The practice has grown from the original 2 chair, 2 employee office to our current 7 chair, 13 employee office, while maintaining the traditional fundamental values of health care blended with the advantages of modern dentistry.
Dr. Preuss has been a member of the Tippecanoe county board of health for the past 23 years, the YMCA board of directors, and the Jefferson High School Golden Bronchos board of Directors. In 2010 Dr. Preuss won the Best Dentist Award in Lafayette for the Journal and Courier's Readers Choice Awards. Outside of his family, Dr. Preuss enjoys spending time with his 2 grandchildren, woodworking, golfing, and catching a movie on the weekends.
